Chris WONG from G7 Private Dining is the winner of Hong Kong pre-selection of the DEYTT 2013 held on 22nd July 2013. He has impressed the judges with his creative take on the themed dish – Pan-fried Duck Breast with Bigarade Sauce. 
                       

Now as the official Hong Kong representative, Chris will compete with seven other regional winners from Macau, China, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines for the Asian championship.  

 
The final round of competition will take place during “Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong 2013 at Disciples Escoffier Theatre, Hall 5F-G, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on 3rd- 5th September. (Please click here a detailed map.)
 
The Grand Opening of the Asian Final Round of DEYTT 2013 will make the scene in the Disciples Escoffier Theatre at 3:30pm on 3rd September, followed by three days of culinary challenges for the contestants. 

During the 3 day competition, the 8 candidates will have different themed ingredients each day as a challenge to test their cooking abilities. Their ultimate goal is to emerge from other contestants and create a unique dish of their own to impress the judges. After the second round on 4th September, 4 candidates will be eliminated and 4 will proceed to the last round of competition.

The last round of comeptition will take place on 5th September, with the theme "Beef and Pastry". The Prize Presentation Ceremony on 4:00pm, 5th September will then mark the closing of this exciting event with the newly born Asian Young Talent Champion Chef.

Chef Iwao Oba, the Japan President of the Disciples Escoffier will act as the head judge while all members of the jury will judge the performance of each contestant in a fair and professional manner.

The winner of the Asian Final Round of the Disciple Escoffier Young Talent Trophy 2013 will not only bring the glory to himself and his country, but will also move on to represent Asia in the World Competition 2014 to be held in Lille, France.

Besides the exciting competition which will take place every day, the Disciples Escoffier Theatre will present Escoffier Chef Demonstrations by celebrity chefs Jaakko Sorsa (FINDS), Jeremy Biasiol (Mirror Restaurant) and Eddy Leung (Chef Studio), and many more.

Asian Seafood Expo 2013 - Chablis the perfect pairing for Oysters


The Asian Seafood Exposition is an annual, premium seafood expo that connects retail, food service, and distribution buyers with suppliers of live, fresh, frozen and packaged seafood products and services from around the world.

This year through the presence of our Bourgogne wine instructor: Mr. Louis Lee, we will do an exquisite pairing with Chablis Wines and Marenne Oleron Oyster (Booth no. 5-702). Oysters can be tricky to pair considering their top layers and after tastes can be subtle or distinct, finding the perfect wine matches has always been a challenge for wine lovers.

Through the aromas, palate, notes of each selection the official Bourgogne wine accredited lecturer Mr. Louis Lee will guide you to discover the perfect matches between Chablis wines and Marenne Oleron Oysters from 11:00am – 4:00pm each day. A variety of matches will be provided with 10 different domains of Chablis wines.



Through this presentation we hope that you will learn the art of matching between Chablis Wines and Oysters. Come and join us!

24H Expo – The French Wines Trade Show is a yearly exhibition program organized by Sopexa Group. 24H Expo existed since 40 years ago, and have attracted more than 25 000 visitors all over the world and helped 3 000 wine producers to prospect new markets.


After setting up in Beijing and Shanghai, 24H Expo has marked another huge success in Hong Kong on 4th July, receiving important wine trade professionals and journalists in town.


Visitors were invited to travel with wine producers to different wine regions of France through a diversified selection of wines including but not limited to: Alsace, Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Chablis, Champagne, Languedoc, Loire Valley, South of France, Rhône Valley
